This song was the first published by Mr. Lehrer, released in 1953 on "Songs by Tom Lehrer". (This song, as well as virtually all his others are on "The Remains of Tom Lehrer"). Therefore, the recording of the version from the Physical Revue is not included here. However, the lyrics used at that time are below.

Introductory dialog (spoken by Tom Lehrer):

But we won't forget our college as through life we go along,
So let us take a moment now to sing Fair Harvard's song,
About our football team and how opponents' hopes were dashed,
While we marched on to victory, as in triumph the Crimson flashed.

Song (sung by the entire cast):

...nonetheless we have the will,
How we shall celebrate our victory,
We shall invite the whole team up for tea (how jolly!)
Hurl that spheroid down the field, and
Fight, fight, fight!

Fight fiercely, Harvard, fight, fight, fight,
Impress them with our prowess do.
Oh fellows, do not let the Crimson down,
Be of stout heart and true.
Come on, chaps, fight for Harvard's glorious name
Won't it be peachy if we win the game? (oh goody!)
Let's try not to injure them, but
Fight! Fight! Fight!

(encores: With Crimson in Triumph Flashing;
               O'er the Stands in Flaming Crimson;
               Fair Harvard)
